If you’ve purchased a guard from Impact, you know we ask what sport you play.
Athletes ask us all the time - why do guards vary by sport.
Here’s the reason why!
We craft guards for MMA, Muay Thai, Boxing and Kickboxing with 6-7mm of material.
This extra material provides the additional shock absorbency needed by athletes in these sports.
You see they have no helmet or cage to protect them.
In helmeted sports like hockey, football and lacrosse we craft guards with 4-5mm of material.
The helmet provides some level of protection and a custom mouthguard adds to those defenses.
Especially if the impact causes your jaw to close violently.
For sports like Jiu-Jitsu and basketball athletes want the thinnest guard possible and since Impact handcrafts guards for each athlete individually we can accommodate that request.
We typically utilize 4mm of material for custom mouthguards used in basketball and Jiu-Jitsu.
No matter which sport you need your guard for - a custom mouthguard’s thin profile will feel so good compared to an off the shelf guard that doesn't fit very well.
The beauty of allowing Impact to protect you is that we are custom making your guard.
This means it can be made exactly how you like it!
Thicker, thinner, trimmed here or there, it’s up to you.
We want your guard to be perfect!P.S. At the time this was written we are about to introduce our POWER-LIFT Mouthguards. They will be radically different in design from a traditional sports guard. Click Here To Sign Up To Be The First To Know When They Arrive
